Social media giant, Facebook on Friday joined Twitter to delete President Muhammadu Buhari’s post against the South East region of Nigeria.

This comes a few days after Twitter deleted the same tweet from the president’s handle for violating its terms and conditions.

However, on Friday, Facebook said the post was deleted for violating its community standards against inciting violence.

“In line with our global policies, we’ve removed a post from President Buhari’s Facebook page for violating our Community Standards against inciting violence.

“We remove any content, from individuals or organizations that goes against our policies on this platform,” Facebook Spokesperson stated.

The Federal Government on Friday suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria after social media giant deleted tweets and videos posted on it by Mr Buhari, which threatened genocide against the Igbo-dominated South-East.
