GTCO Announces Dates for 14th Annual Autism Conference

Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (“GTCO” or “the Group”) has scheduled the 2024 GTCO Autism Program and subsequent consultations. This year’s theme, “A Spectrum of Possibilities,” aims to foster inclusivity, self-advocacy, and empowerment for individuals on the Autism Spectrum.

“A Spectrum of Possibilities” underscores GTCO’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aspiring to create a society where everyone can thrive regardless of their background or abilities. This theme celebrates diversity by acknowledging the unique strengths, challenges, and potential of each person living with autism.

The GTCO Autism Program, a key initiative of the Orange Ribbon Initiative, has become a cornerstone for autism advocacy and support in Africa. Over the years, it has made a significant impact, offering support and empowerment to thousands with neurodevelopmental disorders. The program, in partnership with specialists and organizations from Nigeria and beyond, will include lectures, panel discussions, and performances highlighting the diverse talents within the autism community.

Additionally, the program will provide a platform for families and guardians to connect with experts, share experiences, and gain insights. This interactive platform will enable meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing on various aspects of autism.

In Nigeria, the event will take place on July 15th and 16th at the Muson Centre, Lagos, with free one-on-one clinic consultations available from July 16th to 20th at the Chapel of Light, Alausa, Ikeja. In Ghana, the activities will commence with a workshop on July 23rd at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, followed by consultations from July 23rd to 27th at the same venue.

Commenting on the 2024 GTCO Autism Program, Mr. Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, stated: “Everyone has something special to offer, and we want to help individuals with autism succeed and lead healthy, supportive lives. By embracing autism as a strength, not a weakness, we can help individuals with ASD find their passion, develop skills, and make meaningful impacts in society.”

He added: “We are learning more about autism every day and are dedicated to using that knowledge to make a positive difference. We believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life, and we are committed to making that possible. By working together, we can build a society that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and empowers everyone to thrive.”
