Getting a nomination for the AMVCA is a big win – Ark’bishop

Famous comedian, Olamide Akinmolayan, also known as Ark’bishop has been nominated for the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

The nominees were announced by Nollywood actors, Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim-Effiong during a special live broadcast, which aired on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv on Saturday, 19 March.

Akinmolayan’s Balokun got nominated for the BEST INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE MOVIE OR TV SERIES – YORUBA.

Speaking on the nominations, Akinmolayan said: “Getting a nomination for the “Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice award” is a big win. A motivation I am on the right path.

“First feature film, made in Ondo, from a first time feature film director.

“I worked my head off on set. I did almost everything myself. From script writing, to casting, acting, directing… I did part of the set myself. I was in charge of costume. Eventually, this paid off. I am grateful.

“To my executive producers who believed in me. God bless you. To my cast and crew, it is an honour.

“I will come back and give a better speech if I win this award. Until then, I keep working harder.”

The annual event, organized by Multichoice Nigeria is aimed at celebrating the efforts and talent of actors, producers, directors, and other film professionals.

The award gala is scheduled to hold on May 14, 2022.
