Fuel Scarcity: Dangote Refinery Begins Distribution of Petrol in Nigeria

The Nigerian economy is poised for significant growth as Dangote Refinery rolled out its first batch of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from its 650,000 barrels-per-day facility on Tuesday.

This milestone marks a significant achievement for Nigeria, with the Chairman of Dangote Group, billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, describing it as “a day of celebration” for the nation.

Dangote emphasized that the quality of the petrol produced at the refinery meets global standards, ensuring better performance for vehicles.

“We are now going to have high-quality petrol, which will extend the lifespan of vehicle engines. The engine problems many of us have experienced in the past will be a thing of the past. The quality here will match that of any refinery in the world, including those in the United States. We will ensure that no one surpasses us in terms of quality,” Dangote stated during a press conference on Tuesday.

The refinery owner also noted that once the company finalizes arrangements with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the product will be available on the market.

“As soon as we finalize with the NNPCL, our product will start reaching the market,” he said.
